Short description

ALTA Ripasso is dark-fruited and aromatic, with white pepper rising through ripe fruit and herbs. That lifted spice gives its generous fruit a distinctly savoury edge from the first sip.

Juicy and rounded on the palate, it remains firmly dry as the darker fruit gains depth through the mouth. Freshness keeps the wine animated, while herbs, white pepper and a mineral edge give its richness definition.

Features

Deep ruby red.

Ripe cherry, wild berries and plum shape the bouquet. Dried thyme and cinnamon add aromatic lift, followed by a clear note of white pepper.

Fine tannins form a supple outline around the fruit, while fresh acidity keeps the middle lively. Plum and blackberry take on a more savoury cast across the palate.

A stony mineral note emerges at the close and persists after the fruit.

Food pairing

Serve ALTA Ripasso with pork loin roasted with fennel, chicken cacciatore, tagliatelle with duck ragù, grilled lamb chops, mushroom-and-radicchio risotto or aged Piave.

Allow around 25–30 minutes to open in a decanter.

Serve at 16–17°C.
